Julep Product Review
Well, I decided to sign up for Julep Maven with the purpose of buying the intro box for a PENNY! (use the code penny) Then I intended to cancel, but decided to stay on because you can skip whenever you like. And this way, if I want me some polish then I can get it. (Plus, I really hope to win the golden box in June)
Anyway, I got the “it girl” intro box. It came with:
- Jessica, soft and sweet baby blue crème. What’s fun now.
- Brooke, sheer shimmery purple. Use alone or over another shade to add a modern twist.
- Mandy, fresh, bright, deep coral-pink
So my review….The Julep colors are VERY true to color and they only required one or two coats! (much unlike butter london who requires at least 3 … but i still love me some butter) Although, I am not sure if I really LOVE these colors… I think the intro box could be a little better. But for a penny, I can’t really complain.Jessica- it really is just a nice baby blue. I out it on and then layered Brooke on top. It made it a nice sparkly lavender color.
Brooke- very sheer. definitely not one I would wear alone but is good for a little extra pizazz on top of another color.Mandy- seriously this is the EXACT same color as Butter London’s Macbeth. EXACT. And Macbeth happens to be my current favorite color. So, to me this is just like a plus to have more of my favorite. Plus the Julep requires fewer coats as I mentioned earlier. -

Yay! I am glad you got it!! I was worried about the peanut butter Oreo balls melting, so I tried to separate them with the cupcake liners. I’m glad you liked them anyway :)My Tumblr Eat Up Package showed up today! From miss Lauren!
Not only was she super sweet and sent me handmade accessories for my birthday, but she also sent 3 types of goodies!!
I got some Oreo balls (uhm, these were sort of all melted together BUT SO GOOD), pumpkin chocolate chip cookies (amazing!) and Fantasy Fudge (haven’t tried this one yet!)

May Birchbox Review
My first ever Birchbox. How exciting!!! I decided that I will give a little review of my birchboxes. I am definitely not a fashionista, or cosmetic know it all. Just a normal girl giving her opinions on some products.

I personally LOVE this. I am a fan of the natural look, and I don’t really venture into lip color at all. I am a burts bees kind of gal. But I absolutely love this tinted lip balm. As far a lip balm goes, it is very smooth, and has an SPF! It makes your lips so soft and wonderful. As for the color, it really is just a nice rose tint. You can’t tell that you have on a tinted lip balm but it really just adds that little extra rose color to your lips to make them oh so pretty!
Such a sweet vanilla based scent. I plan to use every drop out of my sample… bust I don’t plan to buy. I really like the sweet smell and would love to own it, but I can’t justify spending $65 on a scent. I know that’s not an obscure price, but I will stick with buying my scents from the victorias secret semi annual sales for now.
Soft elastic. Nice. It doesn’t really leave a crease. It does what it says it does. BUT, I personally know that this elastic sells for cheap. I wouldn’t buy the name brand twistband. I actually liked it as a hair tie so I just ordered 10 yards of different colors of elastic. It is the same elastic I use for my handmade headbands. When I reopen shop then I might just be a product thief and sell these for half what they are charging ;)
Not a fan. I was actually most excited about this product because I wear tinted spf moisturizer on a daily basis. I was really hoping this one would be a miracle worker for evening skin tone. For me though it wasn’t. I put it on and then just covered it up with what I already own (tarte amazonian clay tinted moisturizer spf 15)
I actually really like this polish. I showed it on my toes here. It is a nice metalic and applies very evenly. Prior to this I had never tried color club nail lacquer before. It has been added to my list of polishes I approve of. -
